thrifter.
Thrifting Today = $22 at Boys Ranch (red-n-black checkered funky jacket, jeans, 2 necklaces, worn-in denim shorts, aztec-y belt) + $34 at Savers (blue dress for an upcoming wedding, Nike shorts, denim jacket, tie-dyed sox, silk blue top, flowered jumper, greenish/yellow flowy dress, vintagey red Twins tee...). Had a Spend-$30-Get-$10-Off coupon for Savers, so that was super helpful.
Tomorrow, after Ribfest-ing with my sisters, I want to hit up Clothes Mentor ... a new store in Fargo that purchases nice clothes & resells them, etc.

Late Afternoon's Styling Tips:
Want to add menswear stuff to your stuff? Here are her tips.
Key Pieces:
1. Trousers = CHECK.
2. Blazer = CHECK.
3. Button Down = CHECK.
4. Men's style shorts = CHECK.
5. Oxfords = DON'T LIKE, but I do have old-school PENNY LOAFERS.
Tips on styling the Key Pieces:
1. Pick anywhere from 1 to 4 of the key pieces for the skeleton of your look.
2. How many key pieces you choose will depend on the level of androgyny you’re going for.
3. Pick Key Pieces in neutral tones, save the color for accessories.
4. Create a strong shoulder with a blazer and some shoulder pads.
5. Avoid wearing a dark pant and matching blazer or you run the risk of looking too businessy.
6. You can pair these pieces with different textures and fabrics like lace and silk to play up the feminine qualities of the look.
Key Accessories:
1. A men’s watch = WANT.
2. Fold over clutch = CHECK.
3. Scarf = CHECK.
4. Socks = CHECK.
5. A tie = CHECK? I have skinny scarves that can work as ties.
Styling tips for the Key Accessories
1. Keep accessories to a minimum to maintain the clean and simple lines associated with menswear.
2. Choose statement pieces like a structured clutch or a large watch.
3. Use accessories as a way to add color or pattern to the look.
Styling Tips for Hair and Make-Up
1. Consider the hair and make up to be like the frosting on a cupcake.
2. Keep make-up in the neutral color palette.
3. A pink lip and disheveled hair can be a great way to add a little softens, while a slicked back bun and nude lips will do the opposite.
The main rule to remember is “Have Fun!”, it’s only fashion.

shopping diets?
cheap inspiration and iron-ons.
I guess I'm a cheap ass? Even when it comes to be inspired? (Should I be apologizing?)
I want to see how the sweetheart in rural West Virginia mixed a pair of Target heels with a handmade dress or a chopped-up moo-moo from the Goodwill (Salvation Army/Savers/etc.)... or I want to see how DirtyHairHalo/DisarmingDarling/VintageVirgin mixed prints. Or how SecondSkin/myEdit/DelightfullyTacky mixed up things she already has... and yeah, I want to drool over Orchid Grey's nose piercing and hair. Duh.
Today, I want to get creative. Creative with iron-ons... I have a lot of random letters left from t-shirt-making over the past few years. I think it could be artsy and different. Someone's probably already done this, but I'm going to do it anyhow. Oh, and I have iron-on denim pieces that I want to use on some cut-off Levis. I'd like to make them look like this - bleached out and ripped up.
I'll post creations today if possible. :o)

images stolen from my Google Reader fashionbloggers...
Second Skin is up there (denim jacket over dress) and Fashion Zen has
the funky clogs. The first image... I'm unsure; I lost the blogger in the
shufffle, and the redhead in the stripes/floral... again, I lost a name.
My apologies, but yet I ADORE these images today.
Yep.
